Dutch Design Week

The ninth edition of Dutch Design Week, the biggest design event in the Netherlands, will be held from 23-31 October 2010 in Eindhoven. 

Expect over 1500 participating emerging and renowned designers exhibiting work in around 300 events covering diverse disciplines ranging from product, industrial and furniture design to food design, graphic design, fashion, textiles and interior design. The nine-day event will be hosted at nearly 60 different locations throughout Eindhoven and surrounds. Walking or biking will be the way to go, however this year, the popular Design Rides will be driving visitors to all DDW locations around town.

Studio Barbara Vos showcases her experimental process which led to the making of ‘tex-tiles’; translucent porcelain tiles backlight with LEDS during the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven at the library. Material Matters has a material library for architects and designers inside the regular library. The exhibition takes place from 23th Oct – 8th Dec 2010. During the Dutch Design Week Barbara Vos will give a lecture about her tex-tiles.

Studio Barbara Vos presents her Bamboo and Brilliant Buttons lampshades at Gallery Walls during the exhibition ‘Multiple Choice’ from 27 October till 18 December 2010.

Intermezzo

During the exhibition ‘Hardware’ Studio Barbara Vos showcases her tex-tiles experiments together with a panel of the final product and knitted lights made out of old scarfs, from 5th september – 3th October 2010.


Hema OBA

Hema showcases 80 of their Design contest entrees at the public library in Amsterdam, from 31th of August till the end off October 2010. Studio Barbara Vos is part of this exhibition with her ‘Animal Feet’ (‘Beestenpoten’). These fake animal feet can be worn by children to make for example imprints of dinosaurs or elephants feet in sand or snow.


Pastoe

Studio Barbara Vos showcases her experimental proces and the making of tex-tiles at the Toonkamer of Pastoe. The Toonkamer is an inspirational centre for interior design, with furniture and materials for architects. July 2010.


Telefooncel Delft

‘Voor de Kunst’ is the smallest museum of Holland, in an old telephone booth in Delft. Studio Barbara Vos showcases her experimental proces and the making of tex-tiles during the whole month of July 2010. Galerie voor de Kunst, Oude Delft 140, 2611 CG Delft.


Kunstenlab

Studio Barbara Vos showcases her Bête Tête stuffed animals which won the first prize at the Hema Designcontest 2008. The exhibition takes place at Kunstenlab in Deventer from February till June 2010.


Leve het Licht

During December and January Studio Barbara Vos showcases her bamboo lampshades. The bamboo is treated in different ways, it’s embroidered, bend, stitched, perforated, felted or laminated. The exhibition is called ‘Leve het Licht’ and is organised by Kunstuitleen Voorburg and takes place from 1st December 2009 untill end of January 2010.
